Strategic Youth Services
"Building foundations that strengthen families, creating a pathway for success"
Intensive In-home Services are tailored and structured, short term, home based services offering families in crisis the alternative means to remain safely together, averting the out-of-home placement of the child whenever possible. The program combines skill-based intervention with maximum flexibility so that services are available to families according to their unique needs. Among other services, families will receive the following:
Training in or reinforcement of functional living skills and appropriate behavior to the consumers, health and safety, activities of daily living, use of community resources, assistance with medication management, and monitoring health, nutrition and physical condition.
Individual and Family Counseling
Family counseling is a form of psychotherapy that involves all members of the nuclear family and, in some cases, members of the extended family. A therapist or team of therapists will conduct multiple sessions to help families deal with important issues that may interfere with the functioning of the family and the home environment.
Counseling that is direct, active, personal, and focused on increasing the individual client's self-understanding and adjustment.
Anger is viewed by society as a trait that can be negative and have a direct and long term impact on the positive development of relationships if it spirals out of control and affects overall daily living. Anger management utilizes comprehensive forms of mental health techniques that strive to reduce or eliminate the triggers and effects of varying degrees of uncontrollable states of rage.
Case management services are designed to assist individuals and their families in maintaining their mental and medical health objectives through various support services identified in their individual plans for services. Case management also provides family with an infrastructure of community resources of nutrition, social, education, vocation, and career planning, employment, housing assistance and economic stabilization. Case management services have an expanded goal of assisting clients in developing the skills necessary to function independently and productively in society.
Life Skills Training
Life skills training is designed to give clients the means to function successfully in all areas of their lives. Modules focus on various areas including credit and money management, daily living needs, crisis management, career planning, and family planning, among others. Life skills training is an important tool in helping individuals establish and maintain a consistent pattern for healthy living that promotes family stability and in many cases preserves the family unit.
Strategic's target population is primarily clients between the ages of 5 to 18 years old who are at risk of out-of-home placement.
